Of ritual, memory, and family.

Lauren Acci is my name and the name of this project, which is about getting dressed and the space and ideas that are created around the act of getting dressed.

Since the beginning of the project in 2014, we have mainly worked with local suppliers. This has been a priority for us and has shaped the project over the years. We have built a very close relationship with our suppliers, growing together and learning from each other season after season. The physical proximity allows us to know those who make our garments closely, as we regularly visit all the workshops involved in our productions.

We maintain one of our most enduring and closest partnerships with this esteemed family-owned business, which has been our principal knitwear supplier since the brand's inception. They believed in us from the beginning and supported us through the years. This ongoing relationship has made both businesses grow together. Located merely an hour from our headquarters, their factory is nestled in a region renowned for its rich knitting craftsmanship heritage, where workshops carry out the various processes each garment requires (knitting, linking, printing, laundry, and ironing). Established in 1962, this business experienced a renaissance in 2000 and has recently transitioned to the stewardship of its third generation.

In the atelier, they handle all the pre-steps leading up to the final production. They meticulously prepare the first samples, experiment with different thread styles, and develop the final patron. They also engineer the knitting machine presets to initiate the final production. Some stages of the final production are outsourced to smaller neighbouring ateliers that specialise in different knitting techniques.
